RRD 2009 TWINTIP REVIEW Ollie Scott k13

First impressions :

Graphical the board looks cool and stands out with the black and white theme. I like the sliver designs and the fact the RRD logo is on the nose.
The shape looks good, short and wide for good sliding potential.

On the water :

So the RRD team have reduced the width of  100 twin tip for 09 to get a faster top speed which is something I really like and need for some of the new moves.
The round outline of the board is wicked for the sliding moves and I have found that
I’m defiantly sliding for longer in the i.e. (Spocks) and into double Spocks.
The twin tip is an efficient freestyle board and is defiantly a early planner
With the double concave single V.

For the switch moves you can feel the twin tip accelerate as you get in the back strap
Which you need as you move off the wind and change your feet.
You get super slide as you come round the switch moves i.e. ( chachoo’s or eslider’s).
The twin tip has helped me become more consistent with switch on both tacks.

For shuvit and shaka’s  you get real lift from the tail of the board it’s a cork like shape
Which is thick with lots of volume so you get super spring out of the water.

Not forgetting the old school, for the carving moves the twin tip feels a solid platform
To achieve all the carving move you desire. It holes the line through the turns at
All speeds and wind conditions from glass flat water, in crop and in small swells.
You have the width and volume to do the push tack and duck tack moves then send
The twin tip flying around a 360 feeling comfortable at high speed.

The twin tip comes with the MCF freestyle 20cm fin which is a perfect size to
Achieve the sliding moves and carving.

I really like the 100 twin tip and I’m looking forward to getting on a 90 twin tip
To improve the more powerful aerial move that have come about over the last year
invented be the south American wiz kids.

So I hope to see you on the water enjoying the twin tip and all it’s potential for freestyle carving or aerial stunts.
